Birkholm
The island of Birkholm is located in the middle of the
South-of-Funen Archipelago. The island is a mere 240 acres and
quite flat. The highest elevation of Birkholm is only 1.8 m above
sea level. The island boasts beautiful, old farms, beaches and
great water with ample angling opportunities. Birkholm is one of
the smallest inhabited islands in Denmark. The houses on Birkholm
by far outnumber the island's inhabitants. Many houses that are
used as holiday houses are owned by people from all over the
country who spend a lot of time maintaining them. A small, faithful
crowd of inhabitants born and bread on the island spend their time
in dedication to adhere to the old traditions on the island and
keep an open eye on preserving it intact - summer and winter.
Therefore, dear visitors: Enjoy Birkholm's nature, but please do it
with due care.
